Enhanced Immersion
Polishes the feel of the sub: interaction sounds, a calmer ambient mix, ID-scanner door textures, wireable decor, a zoomed-in camera, and "zDoors" that open hidden background rooms. The audio/visual layer works for everyone; the camera and zDoors need client-side Lua.

- What it is
- An immersion/QoL mod by _]|M|[_ (Lua code largely by Evil Factory; camera by zomgtehderpy; config menu by jia).
- Dependency
- Client-side LuaCs for the [Lua] zoom camera + zDoors. Every non-Lua feature works without it.
- Load position
- Below other mods (Any mod → Enhanced Immersion → New Wrecks). Below Immersive Diving Gear if you run both.
- Lighter option
- "Enhanced Immersion (lua only)" (id 3123289876) gives just the camera/zDoors/cursor, omitting the sound/texture/stat overrides.

📷The zoom camera
- Default: the camera is zoomed in much further than vanilla, for a more connected feel.
- Aiming a weapon zooms back out so you're not restricted in combat (some players dislike this auto-zoom-out).
- Periscope view gets only a tiny default increase — buy periscope upgrades to improve it.
- Adjust via the in-game config menu. Exact per-option names aren't published.
Known issue: the zoom only works correctly at 1920×1080 or lower — at 1440p/4K it misbehaves. This is the cause of nearly all "zoom doesn't work" reports.
🚪zDoors
zDoors let you "enter doors in the background." In reality they teleport you to a separate enclosed room placed elsewhere on the sub (an illusion of a layered room), or act as shortcuts between existing rooms. NPCs/bots can't use them.
- To build your own: place a destination room, wire two zDoors together, and hide the wires for the illusion.
- EI includes 2 zDoor modules that only spawn with DynamicEuropa.
- zDoors were broken for a long time (teleported you "into the door like a seat"); a fix shipped Jan 2025 — update the mod if they misbehave.
⚠Gotchas
- Zoom is resolution-locked to ≤1080p.
- Combat diving-suit / exosuit changes make suits feel slow; a reported bug stops Mantis Genes' walk-speed buff applying while wearing an exosuit. The "lua only" version avoids all stat/sound/texture overrides.
- Sounds/interactions are lost on items overridden by other mods.
- The door ID-scanner texture isn't individually toggleable — use the "lua only" version to skip it.
- Load below Immersive Diving Gear to keep both.
